A Wedding That Celebrated Cultures and Emotions
Srimoyee, a quintessential Bengali bride, and Jorej, her soulmate from a non-Bengali, international background, came together to celebrate their union in a wedding that was nothing short of magical. Their love story began during their university days abroad, where they bonded over shared aspirations and a mutual admiration for each other’s cultures.
For Srimoyee, an emotional and deeply attached daughter to her Bengali roots, her wedding had to reflect the traditions and values she cherished. Jorej, on the other hand, embraced Bengali customs wholeheartedly, making their celebration a perfect blend of two distinct worlds.
The wedding took place at the luxurious ITC Sonar Bangla Kolkata, chosen by Srimoyee’s father for its rich association with Bengal and its unparalleled elegance. The decor was a visual treat, steeped in Bengali aesthetics with intricate floral arrangements and artistic touches that exuded cultural charm.
Moments That Made This Wedding Special
From the intimate haldi ceremony to the emotional saat paake ghora (seven rounds around the fire), every ritual was celebrated with love and joy. Srimoyee’s bond with her parents was especially moving, with her father personally overseeing every detail to ensure she had the wedding of her dreams.
Jorej’s family, although unfamiliar with Bengali traditions, immersed themselves in the vibrant rituals, adding an international flair to the festivities. The highlight of the day was the malabadal (exchange of garlands) ceremony, where Srimoyee and Jorej’s smiles and laughter captured the hearts of everyone present.
